About the Artist

Artist Statement

“The American studio glass movement which started in the sixties, as well as the rich history of Venetian glass are the foundations of my work. Since starting Farmer City Art Glass in 2003 and receiving a B.F.A. in glass from Southern Illinois University, I have had the opportunity to blow glass and experiment more then at any other time in my career. My most recent work is a combination of 16th century Venetian (cane)color techniques applied to a variety of shapes. The colors and color patterns usually will depict the shape of the piece. My interests involve shadow, line quality, optics, and color.and among the color techniques reticello, incallmo, murrini, okkie, cane.”
